When I was growing up, I spent a lot of time with a transistor radio pressed up
against my ear. I was fortunate enough to have an uncle in the electronics business. Uncle Irving gave my sister Susie and I various transistor radios, and a suitcase record player to listen to our 45's on. One year, we each got our own Panasonic radio. Susie got the white Ball and Chain model, I got the the blue Toot-a-Loop (pictured at left), that could turn into an "S" or an "O." I would walk around with it on my wrist or ankle (hidden under a leg of my bell bottoms) and listen to the top 40 all day long. Back then, you could hear a great mixture of music styles in one placeWABC radio. Harry Harrison would happily shout out the song names and artists in what sounded like a cave--that familiar old reverb filled studio. Radio certainly sounded different back then, One minute it was "California Dreaming", the next "A Boy Named Sue"--I'd torture my poor sister Sue with that one. Motown, Country, Folk, Rock 'n Roll, Doo-Wop-(also a NY invention) all met at the same place on the dial.
In the 90's, when the Pearl Jam hit the fan, I had enough of FM radio. In the past
15 years I have been reminiscing in the old days, listening to WCBS radio—which went away for a short time. But now its back in full force, by popular demand—a real New York institution!

I would like to thank the following DJ's and stations for their time and effort, and for playing my music.
I know that there are hundreds of new releases a year to wade through, and that takes time and patience!
But if these DJ's weren't passionate about what they do (many DJ's work without pay-but for the love of it),
many independent musicians would never be heard! It makes me feel like what I do is worth a damn!
